This is the non tourist site of St John pied de port, a lovely little mountain town. We leave this morning for a short day up to our next destination and from there we will see how things go but it's a short walk today. Our hostess here at this house is Bernie (her name is Bernadette). She has provided the lovely breakfast and conversation this morning and some advice for along the way. We will likely stop at a supermarket to buy a little bit of food stuffs for the journey. Then we will take the winter road up toward Roncesvaux and see what we find.

We stopped halfway to R at Valcarlos. We are staying at the municipal alburgue. This area is so hilly it would make West Virginia blush. This is the view from the alburgue.
